The International Space Station (ISS), celebrates its 16th birthday today.
Everything began on November 20th 1998, when the spacecraft Zarya was launched  into orbit by the Russian Space Agency

The launch of the ISS , the second brightest object in our sky, was the dawn of the largest international cooperation effort in space to ever come to fruition.

Every dat the ISS  circles the globe 16 times per day at 28,000 km/h at an altitude of about 370 km, covering a total distance equivalent to the Moon and back.
