Icom unvealed the new special edition top-class transceiver, at the Tokyo HamFair 2014.
ICOM IC-7850
Created on the base of IC-7800 the new IC-7850 will be very similar to Icom’s top of the range transceiver IC-7800.
However interface and platform, parts of the logic sections and I/O interfaces and RF circuitry have been improved.
In particular the receive circuit is has been redesigned to be the best industry class 1st LO phase noise performance with a 20dB improvement over the IC-7800.
Basically, externally the radio boasts gold colour dials, buttons and side strips, the front panel is made witha a very clear piano black, all models carries a special 50th Anniversary serial-number, and a plaque with on top with Mr Inoue’s signature.
